Looking for information on Thomas Edward Harris, born 1835 in Exeter Devon. Died Nelson New Zealand 1908. Unable to trace further back on him. Married Florence Elizabeth Nicol in Nelson.

Thomas Edward HARRIS (1835-1908) & Florence Elizabeth NICHOL (1844-1922) were married in Nelson in Feb 1864
- Thomas was a Gasfitter in Nelson and had been a Gasfitter in Exetor, Devon, England (where he was born) & Florence was born in London
their known children were:

1866 - 1867 Janet Elizabeth Harris
1868 - Valentine Harris
1870 - 1949 Albert Harris
1872 - 1895 Thomas James Harris
1874 - ? Louise Harris

There is a memorial at the waterfront in Nelson, which lists the first boats and their passengers into Nelson and they are listed there. Florence was 6, James was 35 and Elizabeth was 31. Janetta was born in 1854. Elizabeth didn't die until 1922. Janetta Kate Nicol married a Richard Sowman. I have some death dates you might not have for the tribe above. . Louise Harris is Louisa Harris, she married a Henry Simmonds. Florence Harris (the younger one), married a Thomas Turner. Eliza Harris married a Charles Pollard. Thanks for your help with this.
joolz18 on 2013-03-31 05:28:44Right, I'm getting myself a tad confused!! I looked at Florences death date and not Elizabeth. Yes definately 1861 when she died, so Janetta was quite young.
