Hello Ann. We must be (3rd) cousins. Who are your parents and grandparents? I have so many memories and photos as well. Gr-Grandma,Hattie Irene Keeton(1877-1962), married to Gr-Grandpa Thomas young Ray(1869-1950)in 1903 and Grandma was born a year later in July of 1904. I am Shirley 'Ley' Rae Sanford, daughter of Jean and Chester'Sandy' who lived in Bloomington,CA., before moving to Palm Springs,CA. Grandma Goldie was 1st born of that marriage, born before Hugh Sequoiah Ray and my mom Genevieve Jean Marie(1924)was daughter of Goldie Jean Ray (1904-2009) daughter. You will read some oppinions of Gr-Grandma Hattie's 1st marriage to the widower of her sister who died from, it is believed, complications of bithing her2nd. child, a son. I have researched Ray/Newberry quite a bit.Would love to hear from you. Quilts4theheart@gmail.com ...anytime. Best regards, 'Ley'
