help dead end in familly tree
Hi everyone,
My sister and I are searching for information on my great grandmother`s family. Her name was Elizabeth Rose Nethaway and she was born in 1875-1878. We know that her father was called Henry Nethaway from her marriage certificate. She married my great grandfather in 1903 in Romsey, Surrey, England. However we can find no record of her in that area before 1903, can find no record of her birth and no trace of her in the 1901 uk census. We plan on going round the cemeteries in Romsey this summer as my sister remembers visiting her grave there with my father who is since deceased as are any other family members who could have been of help. It may be a long search as we don`t know exactly where the grave is! We have looked at all the family tree sites we can think of on the internet.
Has anyone else had this problem and been as stumped as we are and what did they do to solve the problem.
Thanks for any help
Sarah

Hi Sarah
Did you look on the IGI Familysearch.com? There is an Elizabeth Nethaway born on 31.12.1875 in Marylebone London to Henry Nethaway and Emily Cripps. Any help?
Cheers Tricia

Hi Tricia,
Am following that one up, my sister has applied for Elizabeth Nethaway of Marylebone`s birth cert so we will check if it is her. Many thanks for directing me to Rootschat as it has been great help for me in this and also other queries i have had.

ps I am in Ireland so if anyone needs any help searching for their Irish roots let me know.
Hi Sarah, I've been tracing my family branches, and
it seems that there isn't any records from 1864 back. I'm trying to find info about Thomas & wife
Mary Chute, from Ireland, born about 1810.Also their
son William & wife Margaret ( smith ) Chute,born
about 1835. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You for the offer to help. Ajax
Hi Ajax,
English records go back as far as 1837 then you need to look at the parish records.
Irish records are trickier it helps if you know where in Ireland they came from. If you have family from Dublin the 1911 census is on online and is really good, they will be adding more counties but are very slow at doing so. (national archives.ie)
Also try this website it shows what county records are online (http://www.brsgenealogy.com/) you can look for your ancestor free of charge to do a simple search.
Let me know where your family come from and i`ll try see what i can find. Try rootschat also it is very good and has a great section on Ireland.

Sarah
