help please with (2) Charles Hammond BENZIE - Dannevirke New Zealand & Perth West Australia

Charles Hammond BENZIE was born in Kent, England in 1853
- he sailed to New Zealand on the ADAMANT leaving London on 6th May 1874, arriving Nelson 8th August 1872
His future wife Amy Wood was also on board.
She was travelling with
her brother Albert Wood & his wife Eliabeth (Pankhurst) her older sister Harriet & her husband Henry Stevens

They later moved up to Dannevirke where his application for a license for the Criterion boardinghouse, Dannevirke, was refused in 1903

He died in 1915 and is buried in the Mangatera Cemetery in Dannevirke

They had a son they named Robert Hammond Benzie

There were 2 Robert Hammond Benzie born in New Zealand:

A Robert Hammond born 1880 to this Charles and Amy Benzie
- (this Robert died in 1966, no wife found) and
A Robert Hammond born 1886 (died in Perth 10-7-1972) to Henry Benzie (1858-1939) & Louise/Louisa Chambers
The latter was born in Wellington, moved to Subiaco, Perth Australia and was a shipping manager. He joined the Australian Army Service Corps in August 1916 - his next of kin was Bertha Evelyn ? (1885-1963) of 339 Barker Rd, Subiaco, Western Australia
Robert & Bertha are buried in Karrakatta cemetery, Perth
they also named a son Robert Hammond Benzie (1913-1999)

Amelia Benzie
