He married in New Zealand in 1912 to Louisa Jane ARCHER
- a daughter of John ARCHER from London who settled in Carterton and Louis Ellen CLIMO
- Louisa Jane died 4 years later aged 26

Henry Butler Hosnell next married Bernice Ada Elizabeth DRAPPER in 1916
- Henry died 8 May 1942 in Wellington Hospital aged 58
- he is buried in Taita
- Bernice died 2 years later

... At St Mark`s Church, on Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Henry B. Hosnell, second son of Mr H. J. Hosnell, of Sydney, New South Wales, was married to Miss Louisa Jane Archer, second daughter of the late Mr John Archer, of Clareville. The Rev. R. Young was the officiating minister. After the wedding reception at the residence of the bride`s mother, Clareville, Mr. and Mrs. Hosnell left on their honeymoon tour to Wanganui. Their future home will be at Clareville
