Mary came to Australia in 1844 from Ireland aboard the Wallace with her sister Martha and her uncle John Mitchell, brother in law of George Machesney. In 1846 she married Samuel Walpole in Australia. In 1850 she married Joseph Tatham in Australia. Mary's father George Machesney who was born in Ireland in 1804 was a farmer, after his first wife's death left Mary and her sister Martha with relatives. He remarried Sarah Conkley in Ireland 1830/1832 and went to Pensylvania, USA in 1834/1836 where they remained. I would love to find out more about Mary's life in Ireland and her mother's details. Her mother would have been born around 1804. I believe that Mary's mother died in childbirth, probably with Mary in 1828. Another surname used by Mary was Crooke. Any help would be grately appreciated. I have been searching for Mary's birthplace in Ireland and mother for sometime now and would love a breakthrough. Thank you.
