Hello Sue, Where did you get the name Baldwin from for Ada Amy ? Also she died on the 8 November 1951 at home at Pine Villa, Weetah. Her and Thomas are both buried at Deloraine General Cemetery Section 2 under the names Thomas and Ada Amy Carne with the 'E' the same as Thomas's father John Carne 1828-1906. Thomas's mother was Jane Inch Williams 1837-1914. Thomas worked as a ganger with the railway. Jan

I have no idea why that is wrong, I rechecked some information given to me by my husbands cousin. On the birth certificate for their daughter EILEEN ANNIE CARNE born 21st Dec 1908 in Westbury, the maiden name for ADA AMY is Smith on this certificate.
I will have to recheck that line again.
I was also told that the family at different stages has added or dropped the E. They told me it was CARN.
I think I was just so happy at recieving free information I did not double check.
On the marriage certificate 17th May 1893,I have THOMAS CARN no E with the wittness being CHARLES CARN no E and EMILY SMITH.
I'm sorry this is from some-one who told me her in-laws name was Ada Black ( she did not like her )for years I thought it was true.
The dates and names otherwise do match up.

Carn or Carne is correct, at the cemetery at Deloraine there are both names as well as Carnein. The reason I asked about Ada Amy's name was according to all the research I have done on her, her name was SMITH not Baldwin. So now we have a family of Smith's in Tassie with an Emily and an Ada which narrows the field slightly. I can give you all the children's names and married names if you want. Jan

Eileen Annie Carne married Harold Thomas HEPWORTH b:25 October 1905 in Tasmania d:3 December 1971 ? Australia the son of Joseph Francis Hepworth 1861-1942 a gunsmith from Launceston and Mary Ann Wickham 1865-1950. He married Eileen Annie Carne on the 29 September 1927 at Holy Trinity Church, Hobart. Eileen Annie died on 14 October 2008 in Perth Western Australia.

I don't believe it, I have found Ada Amy's parents, through Emily. I'll post a journal with all the names. under James Hood Smith 1835-1883.
