I am looking for Joseph Ewing, born around 1835 in Western Pennsylvania. He married Mary Ann Pinkerton, born Aug 1835 in Somerset, PA. They had one son, Harry Eugene Ewing. Harry was born June 3, 1865 in Alleghaney City, PA.

Family story has it that Joseph Ewing went west and was never heard from again. Mary Ann then married Samuel McKay sometime around 1869. She appears in the 1870 US Census as Samuel's wife, along with Harry age 5. It appears Samuel McKay was a widower with 7 children before 1869. Samuel McKay (Jr) was born in 1870. I have an obituary notice for Harry Eugene Ewing dated March 16, 1945. It states that he had a half-brother Samuel McKay of Butler, PA.

If anyone has info for Joseph, I would really appreciate it. There are so many Joseph Ewings in PA, I cannot connect with the right one.
