Hi Ksartor, can you give us some names/dated/places please to enable us to help you in finding your elusive Taylor ancestors.

Yes! Thank you!! My grandfather, Christopher Columbus Parsons 1896-1962 b&d Falls Co.,TX was child of Mary Jane Taylor who married Samuel L. Parsons. Mary Jane was b. 1861 and d. 1948 both Falls Co.,TX. She was daughter of James Monroe Taylor b. MO ca. 1834 and his younger wife, Sarah Evleyn Shive (Shieve, Shives). They left MO and were married in Falls Co.,TX and stayed here. James Monroe d. ca. 1909. NO death certs. in Falls Co. for James or Sarah. I live in Falls Co. She died 1926. For whatever reason, James came to TX and married Sarah 25 Feb. 1861 and my great-grandmother, Mary Jane was b. that Dec. James was son of Elisha Taylor and wife Leannah Garner (after years of controversy over who his parents were, I feel confident about Elisha and Leannah). Ancestry.com/ThruLines suggested that John (Hatton?) Taylor 1797-1837 was Elisha's father and Nancy Burkhead 1790-1860 his mother. I also have a partial article from Morgan County Missouri mentioning Thomas Elisha Taylor (my Elisha's grandson) and others. This article has no date, but is about the "History of Hopewell Church". It mentions that John Taylor was Elisha's father. John died, according to article in 1837. Elisha was a state rep for MO 1865 and 1866. Ancestry.com suggests Thomas Taylor and Elizabeth "Nancy" Walker as John's parents. Perhaps, if true, that is why Elisha's grandson was named Thomas Elisha. This is about all I know. Census records prove Elisha and Leannah and match up with other info I have. Would love to have death certs. for James Monroe and Sarah. Should since DC were filed early 1900s. But, there is nothing here. ANY help with this line would be SO appreciatd!!! I have worked this for years.

So sorry. I mixed up names with Thomas Taylor. Spouse should be Hannah Wheeler, not Elizabeth "Nancy" Walker. If Thomas and Hannah are indeed John's parents, then, my next question is about Hannah. Are her parents Josiah Wheeler and Hannah Adams? There are many questions I have, but until I get past John Taylor...
