Hi Humphrey,

It's your cousin, Sally, here. I'd be very grateful for Nick's email address. I understood that he, and your mother, my aunt Felicity, had looked up the Boon family tree, but I didn't realize Nick had also done the Cowpe side. Wendy, Joan and Pep Norman's daughter, my distant cousin, and Gillian are all interested in this and are thinking sometime of going up to Burnley to see where the graves etc. are located.

What's your email address, Humphrey? I feel very out of touch, being over here in the US, but have stayed in touch with Chris and met him when he came over a while ago.

Hi Sally
Sorry to hear you feel isolated in the USA. Imagine how I feel in Australia with one daughter in the UK, one in Perth WA, and a son in Denmark. What a bad father I must have been!!!However, the internet does help.
Now down to more interesting things. I have been looking into the Boon side of the family and a little into the Cowpe side. The Boon,s were into beer and the Cowpe's into
cotton and weaving. I have found that the census is very useful tracking down the family trees and now that I have made contact with you should be able to give you more Cowpe information. I should have this in the next day or so.
My email address is nicksboon@hotmail.com.au
Best Wishes and looking forward to hearing from you

Nick Boon

Hi, i know this is an old thread but i am also doing my family tree.Im researching George bleazard Cowpe who was my Grandmothers (Florence Cowpe) cousin. Her dad, who i am not sure of his name was the son of Robert cowpe who owned a few mills in Burnley. As far as i know, Robert gave each of his sons a mill to look after. F;orences Uncle and Auntie was Alex and Annie Cowpe who are the parents of Lt.Geoerge Bleazard Cowpe who was killed in St.Julien, Belgium in the 3rd battle of Ypres in Passchendaele 31st July 1917. Lt.cowpe is the war hero in my family hence the research.
