I am the daughter of George and Kathy Sowell. My dad's father was George O. Sowell and his father was George Washington Sowell, and his father Thomas Jefferson Sowell and his father was James Sowell. We do not have dates or even marriage dates for Nancy. We do know that he supposedly married 3x's and had 7 sons some of which went to TX. We think that it's possible one was at the Almo and left before it fell to get more troops, we speculate that one was a blacksmith who helped Bowie to fashion the knife for which he is famous. We also are speculating that one might have been a TX Ranger at some point. All this is yet to be confirmed however we have a letter sent from tx by a son of one of these with hx. and stories which hint at these possibles.
