Eugenia J Duez/Duetz while others say it is Duhay. This is my gt gt grandmother b 1832 in Lille, Nord,Nord-Pas-de-Calais France.[This location is in the northern part of France] d 6 Mar 1901 in Cloud Co., Kansas.
The d/o Louis Duez b [some source says 1807] in Flines, Lez Rache, Nord, France. I found from a french person who did some research for me in France, information for her mother was Poline Delmarquette. When Eugenia was a very small child, the mother passed leaving the father to care for Eugenia. He took her to Paris to a convent for orphaned children. When she was about 16 years old, she ran away due to hating this place. She sailed to America and the ship docked at the Boston Harbour. After marrying a man by the name of Longuet, he died and she then married Medard Bourgeois.
