hi Jenni66,
* there are trees on ancestry on Charles Edward Daniels (1834-1921) with Charles wearing his Crimean Medal
* there is this great bio at Crimean War Veterans in WA showing him arriving 28 Jan 1862 into Fremantle as Convict #5941 and his armed service record showing he was Court martialed twice. This also has the photo of him with the medal
* Edward Daniels/Damper/Dampier, aka Charles Ayling was tried in Maidstone Assizes in 1859 for arson. He was sentenced to ten years transportation on the convict ship Lincelles which arrived in Western Australia in 1862
He died in Perth, WA 26 May 1921 aged 87 (had been living in West Perth) and is buried gravesite 136, section KA, Anglican area at Karrakatta. Harriett Emily was his grantee but is not found buried with him
* Harriet Emily Hill was born in Essex, a daughter of Thomas Edward Hill (1807-1885) & Emily Graves Thurgood (1814-1901)
She emigrated in 1852
Emily had a daughter, Florence Jemima Daniels in 1863 (registered 1868). Emily married Charles Edward Daniels in Gingin on 8 Feb 1865 & had about 12 children (but not all verified so not added here)
-- Florence Jemima Daniels married George James Biddle (1858-1907) from Toodyay, in Roebourne 1884 and had at least 7 children. She married William Andrew Martin (1874-1936) from York, WA, in Northam 1910. She died 3 Nov 1953 aged 90 and is buried gravesite 351, section XC, Anglican area at Karrakatta (from Mt Hawthorn) but not found with William
thankyou so much for taking the time to reply to my request it is greatly appreciated. Regards Jenni
