Ebenezer John, was the youngest son of Ebenezer and Sarah (Bales) John. He was born in Clinton County, Ohio about 1813. He signed an indenture in Clinton County, Ohio in 1828 after his father's death.
In January 1834 he was in Vermilliion County, Illinois with his brothers David and Jacob. He bought land there at that time. On December 6, 1834 he married Rebecca Emlee (Emley) in the Methodist Epicopal Church; posting bond was her brother, Isaac Emlee.
