Thanks for that, I really appreciate you sending it through. I know that 1927 was too early for her death - she lived until the 1960s.
But thanks so much for taking the time to contact me. All the best.
Warmly,
Vanessa

do you know if she married or anything about her where she may have lived

by VanessaAitken on 2016-10-04 19:18:54

No, she never married. She was placed into a mental asylum as a teenager in the 1930s in W.A. and apparently never came out. No one in the family ever spoke of her, but I'm fascinated to find out about her seemingly unrecorded and unknown life. I assume she never left western australia.

Name: Elizabeth AITKEN.
Born: circa 1925. (Birth not located)
Died: 07 October 1986.
Place: Mosman Park, Western Australia.
Age: 61 years.
Buried: Freemantle Cemetery, Western Australia.
Area: Presbyterian.
Section: MON E3.
Grave number: 0066.
Grantee: James Hepburn AITKEN.

You mentioned Elizabeth was place in a mental asylum in the 1930s. There was a lunatic asylum in Mosman Park in Western Australia but I have no way of knowing if this is your Elizabeth AITKEN or if she died in the asylum.

And who was the grantee named James Hepburn AITKEN?

Many thanks for that info Tonkin. I don't know of a James Hepburn Aitken, I will have to ask my family. (Infact I don't even know what a grantee is?)

I will look into the asylum in Mosman Park. Thanks very much for replying.
