Information on Jain / Jane Ella French, 1890 - 1912
I am looking for information on my great grandmother, Jain / Jane Ella French, possibly born in Mauritius around 1890. She died in South Africa in 1912. She married James Ashley and had two girls, Ella Francis and Amelia Elizabeth.
When she died, her husband James Ashley returned to England and left the two girls to be raised by Jains' brother, Henry / Harry French.
If anyone has any information, please let me know.
Thanks

Hi
I was going through some old family documents and found Jane Ella Ashley's death certificate. She is my great great grandmother. She was born in England and died in Bechal of Scarlet Fever.
It would be great to hear from you if you have anymore information.
Hi there
My name is Marcelle but my username is Maxilaura.
Sorry, I don't see your name on this post.
It is wonderful to hear from you!
If Jane was your great grandmother, who was your grandmother/grandfather? Can you give me some further information on Jane and your ancestry line please - I also have a copy of her death certificate and her marriage certificate, one says she was born in England, the other says she was born in Mauritius, so I wasn't sure which one was correct.
I am lead to believe that when Jane died, James left South Africa with an infant boy but left the two girls in South Africa - do you know anything about this?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi
My name is Aymee and my great grandmother is Amelia Elizabeth, Jane's daughter. My grandmother is Marie Barbara Nicolas.
Sorry no I don't know anything else about her yet as I haven't been able to find any other documents but I'll let you know if I do.
It's so great to be learning this as I don't know much about this side of my family
Oh, so you are Doug's daughter then? You live in Australia don't you? I am your cousin Marcelle. I saw your Dad and Nadine a few months ago when they were in England.
going to move this to a private message from here on :-)
