Hi Ann Mareel, Maybe you can help me. I am a member of Watercolour New Zealand, a society of painters, and a genealogist. Your Cedric Casey had an uncle 1889 - 1919 Ernest Michael Casey. Ernest was a bright young man who joined the Civil Service, went to war and died back in New Zealand, unmarried, in the 1918 influenza epidemic. He was a gifted watercolourist. I doubt that he painted a large number of works as he had a meticulous style working on very small paintings of shipping and naval battles around the time of WW1. There will be an exhibition of watercolours by soldiers of WW1 to be held in Wellington on ANZAC Day in 2015 in Wellington, New Zealand. Some of his works will be included from private collections. Are you in contact with any CASEY descendants in New Zealand? I am searching for a photo of Ernest to include beside his artwork in the exhibition. Thanks for any help.
