Information regarding the ancestry of John Dever Windon of Lost Creek West Virginia.

Journal by isabelle1

We are seeking information about the Windon Family in the Harrison County, W. Millford, and Lost Creek area of West Virginia. We know our grandfather John Dever Windon and his wife Nellie Gay (Windom) Windon attended the wedding of our parents Brent W.Morgan and Laura isabelle Windon on January 30, 1931 at West Millford. Any information would be appreciated.

did a quick check at www.familysearch.org. Found a John D. Windon, b. about 1897 to Thomas and Cora Windon in Union, Harrison Co., WV in the 1910 census. This John D. Windon had several brothers and sisters. Might be worth a check out at that site.

here is another free online source of information. www.rootsweb.com and then go to the world connect page, type in Windon and you will get 1038 possibilites. Did not find John D or Nellie, but LOTS of WV Windons. Take time to look at "the duplicates" because some of them DO contain a bit of information here and there. One submitter gives LOTS of sources to research further, some online and some in "real" books. Some of these folks should be able to be knit together into your family. This is one to really check out.

Thanks so much for your kind help! I'm really trying to help my precious wife to find out as much as possible about her ancestors. Information has been scarce

Thanks so much for all the good information! I'm doing all I can to help my precious wife gain access to information to her past. Unfortunately, such info has been very sparse and difficult to get. We truly appreciate your kind assistance!
