Interested in the Solomon Moss family of Connecticut

Journal by elizmill

I have quite a bit of info about the Solomon Mosses! I start with Solomon born in 1690 in Connecticut and then more Solomons born in 1790. I would love to find a family history book of this group. Does anyone know of one?

Are you talking about the Solomon Moss born on July 9, 1690? His brother, John Moss the 4th and wife, Elizabeth Hall, are my grandparents. Would love to get to know you.

First! If Solomon's brother was born in the 16-1700's do you really mean that he was your GRANDPARENT???

Anyway, I have traced the moss family--at least my part of it back to Solomon. I understand that the Moss family was descended from a Mayflower passenger. I would dearly love to get more information about the whole faily, what they did, and what the times were like when the first Mss was around. I have a feeling that the only way I am eve going tolearn much would be to go to Connecticut and spend time looking them up.

As for me, I am Elizabeth Miller, age 78, now living in South Haven, Michigan--on the shore of Lake Michigan. I started playing around with geneology several years ago and I love doing it. Each year I swear that i am going to devote more time to it and then something always seems to interfere. Right now I'm way TOO involved in local politics, but I promise myself that after November, no matter who wins, I will get back to the hunt. I have been able to trace three of my lines back to Colonial and pre-Colonial times. My mother's father's line has me stumped. But the search is so much fun. I think that I am doing tis partly for my cildren who have NO interest in this stuff now, but later they may be.

Nce to chat with you. Do you have anything prior to 1690?

Elizabeth
