Hi Folks, I am Karen Denise Norris, dau of the late Leon Norris and Josephine Coffelt. I grew up in Altoona, Etowah County, Alabama. I'm researching both sides of my family. Paternally, Norris, Reaves, Stricklin,and Freeman. Matetnally, Coffelt, Cleveland, Johnson, Bible, Anderson, Spiegel (Speegle), Hannah. My focus at the moment is on finding the maiden name of my great grandmother (Leo Coffelts mother). Her first name is believed to be Alice or Allison. She married George J Coffelt in mid 1890's, in or near Marion County, Tennessee. Their only child (Leo Elias Coffelt) was born June 6,1898. Shortly after his birth (1 to 2 years, and before the 1900 Census) she died. George and Leo are then seen listed in the 1900 Census as living with Georges parents, David and Susan Coffelt in Marion County, Tn. Relatives say she may have been an Anderson. Other info suggests her last name to be Hannah. I have nothing rock solid on her. Hoping someone out there can help.
