Isasc Freeman (Lafreniere) of Lowell VT
I am looking for information on Isaac FREEMAN, and his parents and siblings. Born Frelighsburg Quebec 2/1853. Came to Lowell Vermont, in 1864, with parents, Isaac FREEMAN, LAFRENIERE, and Olympia Foucher. Married Exelina LITNO c1866, either in VT, or in Quebec.
Ist child Mary n was born in Quebec in 1877, Delia Mary 8/1878, and rest, in Lowell VT. Nellie L, 6/1880, Elizabeth C. 6/1882(She lived to be 100), Isaac E, 9/1883, Eva l, 9/1885, Emma J, 9/1886, Edith M, 9/1887, Louis W. 2/1891 and George 1893. George and Mother Exelina died in 1896 and 1895 from pneumonia. The family had moved to Salem Mass c 1894 or 95.
My father said his grandfather Isaac D. FREEMAN, was born in a house in Vermont, but the bedroom was his in Canada. His french name was LAFRENIERE and anglicized it to FREEMAN when he came to VT.
My dad also said he remembers his grandmother as Native American. She was short, loved rocking chairs and smoked a corncob pipe.
Not all married, not all had children that survived, but there were four cousins lost in World War II., as was my second eldest brother. I was born the same year my brother died, and only knew four of my father's siblings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
