Jackman's of Kilkenny Ireland
Looking for family connection to myself through my GGrandmother Anastasia Jackman. She was born in 1857 at Bennettsbridge. Her father was Thomas Jackman and her mother Bridget Phelan or Whelan. Anastasia came to Western Australia with her brother's Walter and Thomas around 1882. I know there was other siblings but not sure if they stayed in Ireland or came out here or went to America. Can any one help?
Kind regards Nola.

So now you're looking for deaths of Patrick b:1859, Mary b:1862, Margaret b:1868 and William b: 1872
I did find a William who died in Perth in 1901
JACKMAN WILLIAM age 65 WILLIAM UNKNOWN LONDON 601 1901
However it gives his father's name as William.
I found a marriage in Perth for a Mary and a Margaret
JACKMAN MARY Female GIBSON GEORGE C Male PLANTAGENET 35 1910
JACKMAN MARGARET Female SCHABEL CARL Male FREMANTLE 792 1901
On Thomas's death notice in Perth 20 May 1936, besides his son William it only mentions Anastasia, his niece Alice and grand niece and nephew Bill and Margaret Varley.
The same with Walter's notice 9 December 1934. Just Thomas and Anastasia his son and Margaret Varley= Mrs. A VARLEY

... I would like to find information about our Jackman family that sailed to Australia from England on the HELENA MENA, a sea going vessel. I believe the arrival date was 1.10.1882. If anyone has any information about these London, England Jackmans, it would be very much appreciated to learn more about our family line.
It goes like this:
First Generation
Thomas Jackman ( - )
Son of (names unknown). Born in London, England. Married Bridget (surname unknown). Had 3 children, Walter Frederick, Anastasia and Thomas.
Second Generation
Walter Jackman (1856-9.12.1934)
Son of Thomas Jackman and Bridget (surname unknown). Married Isabella O?Brien Bogue (1858-1899) on 27.5.1884 in Perth, Western Australia. She was the daughter of John Bogue and Mary O?Brien, born in WA and died in Leederville, Perth. Had two children, Frederick Mathew and Thomas. Farm labourer. Perth, ostler and barman (1884-9 Alm.) Brisbane Hotel (1909). Applied for immigrant grant of 50 acres Swan district 1885. Residence Stirling Street, ?Alfred Street 1884 and Leederville. Roman Catholic. In the 1904 Electoral Roll Walter's occupation was Barman of Brisbane Hotel, 368 Beaufort Street. The Brisbane Hotel is still standing. He was 77 years of age when he died. In 1915 he was at 247 Stirling Street, North Perth, labourer. He is buried at Karrakatta Cemetery.
Walter arrived in WA on the HELENA MENA on 1.10.1882 from London.
Isabella?s parents arrived in WA on 22.2.1847 on the JAVA. Childen were Margaret Mary Ann b. 1849, Theresa, Thomas, John b. 1851 (bp. RC Perth), Mary E. b. 1854. (Mary) Elizabeth Jane b. 1857, Isabella b. 1858, Amelia (Emily) b. 1860, William b. 1861, Frederick b. 1862. Formerly Pte. in the 96th regt. and may have dep. with the Regt. returning as an Enrolled Pensioner Guard. He was stationed at Rottnest Island in 1847. Employed a Ticket-of-leave servant at Perth 1854 and also in 1866 at Swan district. Appointed Police Constable, and later listed as a labourer.
Anastasia Jackman (1858-22.1.1950)
Daughter of Thomas Jackman and Bridget (surname unknown). Arrived in WA on the Helena Mena on 1.10.1882 from London. Married William Francis O?Brien in 1891 in Perth, Western Australia. William died 10.9.1912 in Perth. Had 3 children, Alice Mary, William Joseph and Thomas Francis. Anastasia worked as a domestic. She applied for an immigrant grant of 50 acres in the Swan District in 1885. There is a marriage of Anastatia (note spelling) to John Meagher on 17.6.1884 bu it probably is not the same person, because there is yet another marriage of Anastatia to George Sadler in 1892 in Fremantle and this clearly isn?t "our" Anastasia because she was married to William O?Brien in 1891. It is probably correct to assume that Anastasia Jackman and Anastatia Jackman were two different people. In 1915 Anastasia was living at 247 Stirling Street, North Perth with her father. Anastasia and William both buried Karrakatta.
Thomas Jackman (1868-20.5.1936)
Son of Thomas Jackman and Bridget (surname unknown). Arrived in WA on the Helena Mena on 1.10.1882 from London. Married Sarah Ann Wingfield (1874-21.1.1925, born in Perth, the daughter of William Wingfield and Catherine Hennessey) in 1890 in Perth, WA. Thomas was a telegraph linesman in Carnarvon. Had 1 child, William Thomas. Both buried at Karrakatta.
