Jessie Smith Shand was married to my grandfather, James Maclean in 1913 in Edinburgh. My grandfather was a Solicitor working in Edinburgh during the 1900's.
Jessie Smith Shand's father was John Gordon Shand, and her mother Margaret Smith. He was born in Huntly Aberdeenshire and she Rothes. J G Shand died in 1894 leaving a widow and the children. Jessie had 3 brothers Alexander, James and John and of course Margaret Mellis Shand. Margaret Mellis Shand married John Piper Cycle Agent in Morningside Road Edinburgh, and later at Belhaven Terrace Edinburgh. Jessie lived with my grandfather at Davidson's Main and eventually at 28 Montpelier Park Edinburgh, where she died in 1952.
