John Augustus b 1736 Germany d 1810 Delaware...anyone?

Journal by Jessi4273

My 6th great grandfather is John Augustus born 1736 Germany d 1810 Delaware. He married Elizabeth Springer b 1739 Delaware d 1799 Delaware. Thats it, I have no other information, well I have one of their children, my 5th great grandfather Jacob Augustus I. I got all of the Augustus information I have from The Pigeon Roost Massacre; Collings & Richey families book my grandmother has. This book was published back in the 1960's I think, and only updated last year. Neither of the books has information about John's parents, so I call him my "dead end relative". I do use a couple online genealogy sites, but never take what I find on there for fact until I actually find it in a book or some other type of hard copy record...I've been bit before, but so far everything has been correct.
I decided to try looking for John's information once again, and found it, but this time it contained some other information I hadn't seen before. In a nut shell, the information about John's parents & all of his other ancestors, show royalty. The site stated that John's father was Lewis Augustus b 1707 Germany d 1751 London England. Ok so no big deal...except this Lewis Augustus was also known as Prince of Wales Frederick Ludwig. So I asked my husband - he is from Scotland so he knows a little bit about U.K history :o) - he said that it would have been for a child of royalty who was not going to be king/queen one day to go off and sort of "disown" his family. Not in a hateful way, but basically become a commoner and live a normal life.
So I'm asking if anyone has ANY information on John's parents. Whether it matches what I have or not...you might have the same information and it is true, or you have something else.
Please leave me a message...I don't check every day, but I do check often.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

John Augustus is also my 6th great grandfather through Jacob, then John Augustus. His daughter, Nancy Jane, married John H. Seebolt, my 2nd great grandfather. I have just recently begun to try to fine out my ancestry. Since you also have Jacob as a common ancestor, I would be very interested in anything you've found a out him...I seem unable to find much about him. Thanks, Kathy Stammerman

John was my Husbands 6th great grandfather also through Nancy, James B, John, and Jacob. We're in Kentucky Nancy Married Daniel Brentlinger in Jefferson County Kentucky. I have found the same family history tracing it to the British Royal family.

John was my husbands 6th grandfather as well. My husbands mother was an Augustus. I have started researching his family tree about a year ago and also have come up with he might be from English Royalty. I have found that John's mother was a Walmolden from Hanover Germany. But I have hit a dead end as well. I know John and Elizabeth had several children together and found them on Anscestory.com or google searches. My husbands line is John Augustus,1735 David Augustus 1766,Springer Augustus 1804,John Augustus 1829 Charles Augustus 1873 and his grandfather Harry Augustus 1901

My name is John Augustus and I am trying to find out if I am related to John Augustus who emigrated to Delaware in the 1700's. I have searched extensively online via Ancestry etc and found no documented link....ie the proverbial brick wall. I am looking for Augustus descendants who have had a DNA test at Ancestry or 23andme...so, that we might be able compare DNA to find evidence of a probable cousin relationship.
