Mary Ann Boulton ( nee Brennan ) died 23 July 1894 , at her home in Scott Street , Camperdown .
Formerly of Dublin , Ireland and forty years a resident of Camperdown , aged 79 years - Camperdown Chronicle .
The short newspaper obituary , loosely reproduced above , made no mention of husband John Boulton , nor of daughter Eliza Jane Grant , nee Boulton.
However , in her 1894 will , Mary Ann Boulton gave her possessions to her daughter , Eliza Jane Grant , wife of Logie Grant , Blacksmith.
Looking at 'Tonkin's List" , I note there is a John Boulton ; however I cannot tell whether or not he is the person whose details I seek :
John BOULTON.
Died: 1885 not recorded, Victoria.
Age: 70 years.
Parents: Not recorded.

janilye on 2017-05-27 20:16:26John Boulton from Camperdown was a carpenter. and I think that death in 1885 at age 70 is the one you are looking for. The only other John Boulton to die around that time, 5 June 1882, was only 38 and had been in an asylum at Camperdown since he was 33.

Mary's second name and age are different but expect it's the same Mary. Informants often made errors with names and ages, more so with details appearing on headstones erected many years after the event.
