I have since found out that Donald Robertson Campbell died, aged 9 months , in July 1865, & is buried in Sighthill Cemetery in Glasgow. Scotland. That is why his name was not of the Shipping list when the Family came to Australia. Thanks to a Scottish Researcher for that information. I can't recall her name or details? Thank you edmondsallan for your information on Donald Robertson Campbell.Confirms it is "our" Donald!

Hi Rob, I responded to another post so I hope you are able to reply. My husband's family is descended from the first Daughter, Jane aka Jean Campbell who married twice, once to John Charles Lewis on 15/5/1869 in Smeaton, VIC. Tragically her husband and 2 baby boys all died within the next 2 years - Charles Henry Lewis b. Jan 1870 d.16/5/1870, John Charles Lewis (husband) b. 1846, d.4/4/1871 and John Charles Lewis (JNR) b. Aug 1871, d. 8/10/1872. Poor Jean. She married again to Adam Thomas Smith 7/7/1878 in Deniliquin, NSW and together they had 6 children, Christine Mary Ann Smith b. 1879, Elizabeth Jessica Adamena Campbell Smith b. 1880 (this is my husbands great-grandmother), Thomas Ewen Campbell Smith b. 1883, Jean Evelyn Harriet Smith b.1885, William James Clark Smith b. 1889 and Harriet L. Smith b.1893. Adam already had 4 children to his first wife, Catherine Kelly who was from Armagh, Ireland and died in 1875. Would love to swap info. My Husband's mother had Campbell as her middle name as well. Kind regards, Carey Batchelor

Thanks Carey, this is a great surprise to hear from you...Harriet Smith, b.1893, died aged 10 years old from a fall from a horse.John Campbell, Jane/Jean(Campbell/Lewis/Smith) father died aged 52 in 1875 from a fall from a horse at Glengower, Campbelltown Vic. Jane/Jean's first husband John Charles Lewis died when he was kicked by a horse. I have copies of the Jury report for John Campbell & John Charles Lewis. They are buried at Glengower Cemetery at Campbelltown, along with the 2 infant children (all Unmarked graves) Jane/Jean's sister, Jessie m. a James Clark, that is possibly where William James Clark Smith names came from. Jessie Clark ( Campbell) died 1896 aged 44 years. She is also buried at Glengower Cemetery Campbelltown ( unmarked grave) James Clark remarried. I'll keep in touch..Joan Campbell
