John Essenhigh and Jane Turner
John Essenhigh was Baptised on the 13/6/1813 Holy Trinity Church in Dartford England to John and Hannah Essenhigh. He somehow ends up in Adelaide where he married Jane Turner on the 15/5/1845. It is not known on which ship he arrived out on. He seemed to have worked impounding cattle or a short time. John and Jane had 4 children.

They moved to Melbourne where John and his son George died in 1857. Both are buried at Melbourne General Cemetery, no headstone. After John?s death it is unknown what Jane and her young children did,but they ended up in the Benalla area where they settled down. Jane Turner arrived in South Australia with her father Edward, and brothers Edward, Charles, Noah and Thomas and sister Mary on board the Buckinghamshire which left London on the 11th December 1838 and in Adelaide on the 21st March 1839. Jane is buried at Melton Cemetery with her sister Mary and Mary?s two husbands there is no headstone.
