Martin's from the Southern Indiana Area

I am looking for information on a Major Martin, whether that be a service rank or what they called him is unknown. He was said to of come from North Carolina to Southern Indiana I believe Major Martin was from Stokes County, NC. I would appreciate any added information anyone might have for any of these individuals.

I am thinking the Craven Martin was probably a nephew of Madison Martin being he is in the 1850 census with Madison Martin and his family

There are six indivuals in Southern Indiana area that are possibly believed to be his children

1) Unknown Martin that married Rebecca Sours they had two children

1)Craven Martin born 1837 Indiana died 1916 Orange County, Indiana he is buried Fairview Cemetery Orleans, Orange County, Indiana, USA he married Charlotte Lapping born 1843 died 1914 they have 4 children:
1) Albert Martin (1869-1925) buried Fairview Cemetery Orleans, Orange County, Indiana Mary Etta McIntosh (1874-??) 1 child born to them Ruth Martin born (abt 1915-??)
2)Herbert Martin born Jan 1875 Washington County, Indiana
3)Mary P. Martin born Feb 1877 Washington County, Indiana
4)William Edward Martin born March 9 1884 Washington County, Indiana died Apr 3 1941 buried Fairview Cemetery Orleans, Orange County, Indiana he married Ery Elma McIntosh born (1879-1937)buried Fairview Cemetery, Orleans, Orange County, Indiana
2)Catherine Martin married Samuel Smith

2)John Henderson Martin born Apr 16 1809 North Carolina died Oct 14 1854 Floyd County, Indiana buried St. John's Cemetery, Floyd County, Indiana he married Susannah Soursin 1839 Floyd County, Indiana they had 4 children John H. Martin (1841-1924), Susannah Martin (1846-1866) Nancy Martin (1851-1929) Bryzilla Martin (1839-1926) all born in Indiana

3) Madison Martin born Feb 20 1817 Floyd County, Indiana died Feb 4 1876 Greenville Floyd County, Indiana buried Buttontown Cemetery, Floyd County, Indiana he married Nancy Byerly in 1839 Floyd County, Indiana
they had 11 children

4)Jeptha Martin born March 5 1819 Floyd County, Indiana died July 4 1845 Floyd County, Indiana buried St. Johns Cemetery Floyd County, Indiana he married Sarah Byerly in 1840 in Floyd County, Indiana they had 3 children Nancy Martin(abt 1841-????) Philip (1843-1921), Thomas Martin abt 1845-????) all born Indiana

5)Jessie Martin born 1822 Floyd County, Indiana died Feb 4 1896 Palmyra, Indiana buried Palmyra Cemetery, Harrison County, Indiana married Romanzy Sours in 1842 in Floyd County, Indiana they had 11 children

6)Brazilla Martin born Sept 3 1805 North Carolina died Dec 26 1893 buried Wolfe Cemtery, Georgetown, Indiana she married Solomon Byerly in 1829 and they had 2 children James Byerly (1831-1903) Nancy Ann Byerly (1835-1901)

That leaves 3 possible children born in North Carolina before he comes to Indiana Brazilla Martin, John Henderson Martin, Unknown Martin.

I am working on the Martin Family of Greenville, Indiana. Struggling to find out who Ann Martin's parents were who married Henry Miller in 1835 in Floyd County. I think she is related to Madison Martin, somehow. Larry Miller
