James Conard of Haywood County, NC

I am researching James Conard from Haywood County NC. He married an Elizabeth Matilda (or vice versa Matilda Elizabeth) Finney. They lived in Cataloochee Valley, NC in 1800's and early 1900's. Found in a book about early history that they moved back to TN when the park service purchased Cataloochee land for the Great Smokey Mountains park. They were to move back to Cocke County, TN, have not verified this yet. They had a daughter Martha C.(I thought Jane) Conard (I previouslh had been given Conner). She was my ggrandmother. She was born in 1866. Any help on James/Elizabeth/Martha would be very helpful. Martha eventaully married George S. Messer in 1906 they lived in Saluda, NC (Polk County) for a few years. About all I know. Any help will be appreicated. Thanks

Newlife on 2007-09-21 11:19:31Not sure if this will help but My Grandmother Rosa Bell Conard, was married to a Finney and a Messer the year of birth I dont recall she passedaway about 20 or so years ago.She was an only child we were told. She had a son named Claud that lived on/near Cataloochee.

Charkrauss on 2016-05-10 21:35:17I am the granddaughter of Alonzo Conard married to Bessie Mae McDaniel. Alonzo's parents were John Horace Conard married to Amanda Jane Biggs. John Horace Conard parents were John Henry Conard married to Vina Mathis 1st wife Cora woody 2nd wife. John Henry conard's parents were John Aaron Conard married to Nancy Adeline Finney. John Aarons parents were James Conard married to Elizabeth Beasley. All from Haywood County NC ( Little Cataloochee) I have been researching for 20 years and have yet to get any further information on the parents of James. Where he and Elizabeth went after little Cataloochee. . Where they are buried etc. Should anyone have that information please contact me!
