Edgar Ernest Seward was the son of William Hampton and Elizabeth (nee SEWARD) It is thought that he went to Australia in the early 1900s.

He was the eighth of nine children, most of whom died at an early age. The nine children are listed below.

Amendments to Edgar Ernest HAMPTON Journal:
Surname SEWARD used in error in first line.

Herbert Frank married Caroline Woodman

Elizabeth Hampton, nee Seward, born c.1838 died in 1879 aged 41, a few weeks before the death of her youngest son Thomas. Thomas was buried in Ilminster, Somerset, the home town of the Sewards.

Elizabeth was buried in Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Her huband, William, re-marrird on 21.11.1880.
