Searching For Bell relations from SC, GA, AL and TX

Journal by tebellhoop

Reason Bell was born in the year 1817 in South Carolina. He married Louisa (unsure of her maiden name) around 1837. She too was born in South Carolina.

The Reason Bell family moved to Gilmer County, Georgia, in Boardtown near Ellijay where they set up in farming. They had children Mary, Martha, Nettie, Julia Ann, John and James, all born in Georgia during 1838 and 1853.

By 1860 the family had moved to Cherokee County, Alabama where they lived until the late 1860s. By 1870, Reason Bell has died and the remainder of the family has moved to Calhoun County, Alabama.

Several of the family members still live in that area.

Little is known about Mary. Martha married Henry Smith and has a son James Jr. and a daughter Viola.
Nettie had a daughter Amazona and later married Oyal Madison Howell.
Julia Ann married Warren R.D. Manning. John married Myalin Julia Murphy and moved his family to Texas in the late 1870s. James married Sarah Pearson.
