I have traced my family back to Somerset Chew Magna - this is what i have so far
Mark Randell born 1971 Birmiingham
Horace Randell born 1936 Birmingham
Frederick Randell born 1898 Birmingham Aston Manor
Thomas Randell born 1858 Birmingham Aston
Thomas Randall born 1822 Chew Magna Somerset
James Rendall born 1781 Chew Magna Somerset
Thomas Rendall born c1749 Somerset ?

Note Thomas Randall 1822 - his surname was spelt like this in St Andrews parish records - the other children were spelt various - it is believed the name derived from Rendall - as there is a marriage for Thomas Rendall and Martha Parker in 1780 - it appears that when Thomas 1822 moved up to Birmingham with his wife Jane (nee Longman) the a and the e reversed places as we have allways spelt the name Randell.Thomas and Jane Longman married in Birmingham in 1848 and according to research the following children have been found
Louisa 1848 (nothing more is known)
Alcester 1850 died young
William 1853 had children Elizabeth 1884 Alfred 1889,Walter after 1901,Lilly after 1901,Nellie 1892,Annie 1891 (some decendents live in Tamworth)
Frederick 1855 died 1891 had 3 children Frederick Arthur Believe to have died young) Bertie born c1885 (death found aged 63 in 1948) to get death cert looks right
Thomas 1858 married Emma/Emilly Howell who died young then Charlotte Benbow,first marriage Florence (died young)Lillian Maud 1882, Gertrude 1886 2nd marriage children = Lavinia Annie 1890 (died 1892) Thomas Benbow 1891 (died 1892) Elsie 1892(believed to have married an Ernest Wotton),May 1894 Samuel 1896 (died ww1),Frederick 1898 married Amy Elizabeth Osborne in 1925 had 18 children(6 died young)
John c1858 (posibilly moved too Wolverhapton more reseach needed)
Alcester 1860 married James Scott(no children found up too 1901 may have lost some but to look in 1911 census when due.
Thomas Randell 1858 is my grt grandfather and worked as a Gunsmith in Birmingham - he died in 1923 aged 65 years.
