My gr grandfather was Frank Fairbrother born 1873, married Nellie Sheffield. He was from Long Eaton, England, and served in the Boer war. If any of this sounds familar drop me aline.

Familiar yes . My family of fairbrothers come from LONG EATON Derbyshire. Yes Hawthorne avenue is where they lived and they had a weightlifting club. Olympic contenders 1936.. One branch lived near TRENT LOCK and were boat builders.. The older members were engineers with ROLLS ROYCE in DERBY. n Contacts South AMERICA and RHODE ISLAND sound familiar ?
