My mother (Brigitte Hoeksma) married Klaus Dietrich Preussmann in 1976. He adopted my sister and I. They later divorced and contact was not maintained. I believe he had a brother Herbert Preussmann and his mother was Gertrude Preussmann. I am curious about the German history of this family.

With an unsual surname like PREUSSMANN I'm sure that if you enter it into this genealogical search engine, it should be able to dig up lots of data for you. You can even select a country like Germany or USA.
