Looking for Ancestors of Thomas J. Isaacs of Kentucky
I am searching for the ancestors of Thomas J. Isaacs who married Mary Fant and had one son, Charles Walter, of Kentucky. Charles married Ellen Louisa Purdy and they raised several children. My father was John Clifton who married Ardis Marie Fernquist.
The parents of Thomas J. were Jacob Isaacs and Rebecca Bowman.
Jacob's parents were Godfrey Isaacs and Kiziah Johnson.
Godfrey's parents were Samuel Isaacs and Nancy Baldridge
Samuel's parents were Godfrey Isaacs and Sarah (possibly Ashby or Ashley)
Godfrey Isaacs parents were Samuel Isaacs/Isaacks Jr (died 1760) and his parents were Samuel Isaacs/Isaacks Sr. (died 1750). They lived in Frederick Co. Va in the 1740's. They were probably of Scotch/Irish/Welsh heritage. To date, first known records were in Frederick Co. VA. They sailed probably from Wales, not sure on port of entry.

What was your grandfather or great-grandfather's name? Is Sandgap, Ky near Mason, Ky or Grant County?
In my recent findings on the Ashby lineage I show Sarah Asbhy Isaacs of Frederick Co. Va a daughter to Captain Thomas Ashby (1680-1752) and mother Rose (1682) . There were 7 children of this family with names: Ann Ashby, Henry Ashby, Elizabeth Ashby Hardin, Capt Stephen Ashby, John Ashby, Robert Ashby and Sarah Ashby Isaacs.

Thank you for the information. One of Sarah's brothers had some business dealings with one of my ancestors. Off the top of my head, I don't remember which one, but I can go back to my file if anyone is interested.
