Roy William Burney

Journal by caghristdre

Roy was his middle name that he went by but his given name was William Roy Burney. He was born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada on July 17, 1901 to George Burney. He had one brother and five sisters: George Milton, who went by Milton; Nellie, May, Lenore, Gerturde and Florence. Nellie married a Charles Richardson, May married a Merle Fox, Lenore married Frank Waggenor, Gerturde never married and Florence married but I'm not sure what her married name was.
I was told that this Burney family was a direct decendent to Fanny Burney and to a Burney who was a cabin boy for one of the ventures made by Captain Cook.
Anyone with any information would be eagerly anticipated.
Thank you ahead of time.

If you join up as a free member of RootsChat then goto their Emigrants to United States boards you could find out so much more and very quickly, lots of users at that site.

It can't hurt to spread your family tree research around a couple of sites, ... don't forget about the Genforums too.

Nellie married Charles Richison and was my mother's stepmother. I gathered some Burney family information from my mother, and much more from genealogy web sites. Nellie was married twice before Richison. May was married to Nickerson, Bohm and Fox. Florence was married to Levi(Sam) Cooley. Gertrude was married to a Griffith who died between 1920 and 1930.
