COCHRANE family from Auchterarder, Scotland

Journal by fran08

My father was Charles COCHRANE, born in Auchterarder 2 December 1910. Came to Australia with his family around 1920 to work in the Moruya quarry, cutting stone for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. I have a lot of the family, going back many years, but got stuck when I came across what are possibly cousins, born at the same time. The Scots all called their children the same name, and it makes finding people very difficult.
My grandfather William married Catherine Smith CARR, whose parents were John CARR and Marjorie STORMONT.
I'd like to know if there are any relatives in Auchterarder or surrounds who have information, and would like to get in touch.

Cochrane family emigrated on SS Diogenes 11 Sep 1926 (from UK emigrant lists) Cannot find record of their arrival in Australia - did the ship put into Eden? Any clues ? Researching with Ronald Cochrane, son of William and Catherine, born in Australia 1932. Have information on family prior to emigration (Stormont, Clunie, Wtson, Smith, Walker, Mongies, etc) Want to share ??

My great great grandmother was Eliza Cochrane who married John Keys and emigrated to Australia and I think various family members came out here too. They lived in Northern Ireland near Belfast I think .
