Looking for more on the family of William Brink b. PA d. AZ

Query by veedgo

William Brink was b. in Honesdale, Wayne, PA on Nov 1836. He m. Wina Cave, apparently an abandoned Apache girl (this family adopted her and her sister when they found them on their way to AZ in the 1860's and found them in a cave hence the name). They settled in Yavapai Co. His father is Benjamin and I only have his mother's name, Elizabeth. These two were married in S. Butler, Butler, PA in about 1831. I think they stayed and died in AZ.

That's nice Brink information. However, I am still needing to tie in any Brink information with the ones that I mentioned above. I researched using your information for descendants that would match, but I am having difficulty finding any. None of the children of the Benjamin Brink you mention that died in 1794 match and I couldn't find any siblings or cousins that match yet.

Yes, my wife got it from her father when he passed away and I've read through it. Very interesting and quite a lot of information on Wina/Nina Cave and the Brink's.
I was curious, though. It mentioned how old they thought she was when they picked her up (about 5 unless she was a little older since this race of kids can be pretty short for their age). So the battle (massacre) would have been sometime in the mid 1850's. The narrative also mentions that she was Tonto Apache which tribe had lived in the area. However, I can't find any records whatsoever of such a battle. Does someone have access to such records or know how to look them up? They aren't in the general history quite unlike many other "Indian" battles. I was hoping that the history at least recorded some names where one could possibly even pick out a link to Wina's people.
Thanks for posting Justin Brink's email. Would he mind being contacted? I gather he has some information. My wife is her great-great-granddaughter through Cora married to Duff Dickson.
