Natalie123, have you tried the LDS web site?
They don't charge & have a large library of names.
Try this; www.familysearch.org
Or you can try; genealogy.com. Good Luck. Ajax
Thanks Ajax i will give these a try.

Natalie123, My Family Tree has a branch named
Elliot from my mother's side. They're originally
from the state of Vermont. Do you think there
might be a connection?
Hi Ajax i really don't know, just about all my family is from Newcastle Upon Tyne (at least the one's i know about). My Grandmother's family are originally from Ireland, i found out her maiden name Mcguinness, but my maiden name Elliott end's in 2 T's not one, i don't know if this help's you.
I did try those site's you suggested but most of them are for US and not UK.
Thanks Natalie
OK Natalie123,try these;
GenForum-Home, page should come up & say US States
then under that it will say countries. Click on
countries. If that don't work, try this;
GenForum.genealogy.com/countries/
Thanks Ajax, will try.

It's frustrating isan't it, this family research.
Natalie123, just for the record, my " Elliott "
family starts with George Elliott, born in the state
of Vermont,USA. He married Mary Blake, born in the state of Ct.? They had a son named Edwin Cyrus
Elliott in 1845. I have more info from Edwin to the
present, but I don't have information from George
back to Europe. " My Elliott's " have always been
considered as Irish, so we might be cousins from
way back.
Hi Ajax, we could be you never know.
