He was a neighbor to a Robert Foreman in Pickaway Co, OH. I don't have any connection between my Foreman line from highland Co, Oh and yours but I guess there could be somewhere. any way, are you familiar with www.pilot.familysearch.org? Go to http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#givenName=James&p=recordResults&birthYear=1824&birthPlaceId=46&searchType=close&surname=Foreman&birthPlaceLoc1=Virginia%2C%20United%20States for the exact location on pilot.familysearch.org and you will find your James foreman.
The familytreecircles didn't copy the address I sent you about James Foreman in the above message so go to http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start then enter his name and then scroll down the dropdown menue on "Events" and choose "Birth/Christening" and enter the year he was born, then enter the county and state in "Location" . After entering the state and county you must wait a second for the site to find it and then click on the county and state it found. The site will then go to a page that lists your James Foreman. Click anywhere by the name (there is no specific plac--just click anywhere by the name). It will turn to a blue color across the page. Now look at the two thin vertical ros at the far right of the page. Click on and hold to the white tab and scroll down the page to see if your guy is listed any more--he could be listed several times on one page, just under different census years, or you may find more of his relation on the same page. Well he happens to be the first one on the page so now go to the other vertical column with a little black thing that says "record details" and click on it one time and you see a record pop out--but you are not done yet. Look over this white page of a simple record, then go back to the black thing ("record details") and before you click on it please notice the color of the whole column if it doesn't change color to a darker grey , then this is great. Click on the column and it opens up a photo copy of the original census sheet. You can drag the sheet around and make it bigger or smaller. Sometimes this site does not open this census sheet for viewing--when the column changes collor to a darker grey this means it will not open for you. GoodLuck P. S. The most complete Foreman line I ever ran across goes back to a Revolutionary German Soldier named David Fuhrman who married Elizabeth Horine in Mercer county, Ky---it's a book in paperback about 1/2 inch thick and the size of a sheet of writing paper and called "Foreman Family Lineage" wrote and self published in 1987 by Mildred Foreman Gage of Ashville, NC. She has sent it to various genealogy state archives and libraries around the country. The genealogy branch of the tennessee state archives in frankfort has a copy. Just Google the book and you'll find a few more places that has it. His wife Elizabeth is here http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=foreman&GSfn=elizabeth&GSbyrel=in&GSdyrel=in&GSst=16&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=15661643& also go here http://www.genealogytrails.com/ill/pike/pioneerervin.html
Robert Foreman is my great grandfather. I have gotten a lot of info from FamilySearch. James is my great great grandfather and lists his parents being born in Virginia.
