Dept Justice and Attorney General

James JACKSON married Maud Constance SAYERS in 1907, Queensland, Australia, Registration No.1907/C2412.

Children's births registered up to 1914:-

1908 Reginald Victor JACKSON
1910 Ethel May JACKSON
1914 James Hamilton JACKSON

I highly recommend purchasing all bdm certs surrounding these families.

Researching a surname like JACKSON is like researching SMITH. It pays to be careful not to go up the wrong branch accidentally.

My great grandparents were Maud and James Jackson of Mt Morgan. The information provided here by the Dept. of Justice is incomplete. A child was born in 1912 named Rose Maud who was my grandmother. Also I know Maud Jackson did have another baby after James. In 1914, just before James was born, Maud's husband was killed in an accident. He was injured when logs werw on a bullock dray and had not been chocked properly. Baby James was born and simetime afterwards Maud's brother-in-law came to stay. Whether he was in fact her relation by marriage or someone she took in we are unsure. It is true however that she had a baby boy after the death of her husband and whoever the man was it is believed he was the fatber. No one talked about all of this very much and it took years for me to piece it together. My grandmother talked of her "cousin" who lived with them. Some time went on and Maud remarried William (Bill) Glasford Mc Donald (or Macdonald) and had two more children. Kenneth and Norma. I knew Maud Jackson. She.died when I was about six. Hope this has been helpful.
