IRISH HAVILANDS/HAVLIN, JOHN AND ANN, ROGER AND CECILIA

Journal by LindaLH

I am trying to find out more about John and his wife Ann Havlin/Haviland, who were born in Ireland around 1780, and also Roger and Cecilia Havlin/Haviland, born in Ireland around 1780. The son of John and Ann, John, also married an Ann..Ann Havlin/Haviland, daughter of Roger and Cecilia. This John was born around 1806, as was his wife, Ann. I do not know the correct spelling or exact dates of birth, or place. I do not know if the younger John and Ann married in Ireland or after they emigrated to the U.S. and settled in Massachusetts (before 1835). I have no idea how to search in Ireland from here in the U.S. and any help would be very greatly appreciated...Linda Haviland avonlindahaviland@sbcglobal.net

Dear Linda,

Tips re Ireland research from USofA. Goto RootsChat a free genealogy website, register as a new user, have same nickname LindaLH as on here if you wish and it hasn't been taken already. Then goto their Emigrants to United States board ... post some lookups and/or read their beginners info.

They have and Ireland board and childboards for every County, so with a bit of luck and patience you may yet find them.

Also think about having your tree online somewhere, especially where you can get cousins etc to collaborate and work on the same project with you. Say Geni is fantastic for that purpose or [http://www.tribalpages.com/]TribalPages[/url] - free also, possiblity of upgrading site to a paid version - if you wish to have a private tree and grant access to others with a password.
