Looking for Sgt. William Taylor,Royal Artillery b. c1870

Query by Maddy

My Grandfather was William Taylor. When my father was born in Fulham,England in 1905 he was named as his father - William Taylor, Sergeant in the ROYAL ARTILLERY.
His mother, Fanny Pride, said that she married William in 1894 but I cannot find a marriage Cert.
I believe therefore that William may have been born c.1874. Fanny was born in 1862.
I have a photo of William age about 30 in RA uniform taken in Mauritius between 1902 and 1904. This does not show any rank.
When my father married in 1934 his father is described as deceased.
I believe William may have served in the 2nd Boer War and was a proffessional soldier.
In the 1911 census Fanny says she is married and has 1 child but he is not with her.(my dad was given to a friend). She is described as a
boarder and a "household servant" living in Hampstead.
