Brick Wall - David F Farley's ancestors, Alabama
Hello. I'm new to this site, but not new to researching ancestors. My present, and chronic, brickwall is paternal gr-grandfather David F Farley, b AL 1836 d MS 1921. Have no information as to his parents, siblings, etc. He enlisted in the Civil War in 1861 Shelby Co, AL, was wounded, imprisoned in Camp Chase, returned to AL in 1865. Married Martha Sara Bates, b ca1844 AL, d 1906 MS, and they had a large family, one of which was my paternal grandfather, George Willis Farley. Many Farleys served in the Civil War from Al, perhaps some being siblings of David F, but I cannot prove anything. Would appreciate any info. Martha Sara Bates was the dtr of Hiram and Elizabeth Bates. Hiram was born in the 1790's in Ga,most sources reveal. Thank you for anything you might know.
