I am a descendant of Moses Poindexter Payne from Georgia, born 1834,moved to Texas and then Oklahoma. He is my great grandfather; his son and my grandfather was Jessie Butler Payne (1874-1942). I have done extensive Y-chromosome testing and have Haplogroup I with subclade 2a2 evidence. John Payne of our line arrived from England about 1660 or so. I do not know his information before then but the Haplogroup I2a2 indicates early family existence in Croatia. I would be happy to share additional information with other Paynes et al.
