Pekama Titari or Titari Pekama - This is my great great grandfather
I have a photo of Pekama Titari 1826-1891 I restored and enlarged. It shows him with an impressive moko and although the photo was small, the enlargement shows all the detail. This is as far back in the Pekama line I can go until the name changes perhaps to Titari.
Pekama Titari was the father of Hemi Tahuhunuiorangi Pekama who married Kuini Ngahiwi Kiwikiwi who had Renata Waikakari Kawana Pekama who married my grandmother Reiha Miria Edmonds who had my mother Rhybon who lives with me and is 88 this year.
Interested in any information.

Hi there
Your greatgrandmother Reiha, who were her parents?
My great great grandmother is Raiha Pekama who married John Tucker Edmonds.
How would Raiha be connected to Titari Pekama and do you know if these Pekama whanau came from Taranaki, which one of the stories I have heard?
Thank you for any information

And Jack Richards whom is Tarewhounu son is my Grandfather.
Tena Koutou, I saw that your tupuna is Kuini Ngahiwi Kiwikiwi. I was wondering if you have any more information concerning her parents and herself as I have very little about her. As anacondo has suggested Taranaki, I too have come across this thought. Any help would be appreciated.

anaconda: Reiha is the youngest daughter of Raiha and John Tucker Edmonds and Pekama Titari is her grandfather. It is Hemi Pekamas wife Te Ra Rua also known as Kuini Ngahiwi Kiwikiwi that is from Taranaki. She is the daughter of Ngahiwi Kiwikiwi and Marara
Taiapa.
Kinasurfer: Yes...the story of her being a twin are true. Her photo was taken back to her people to lie on the walls of her marae...Parihaka. My dad drove everyone down and I have their photo taken outside the wharehui. My mum is still alive and is 93 and sharp as a button and has this recorded in her journal. I have a photo of Kuini Ngahiwi and
