Research has not always been easy with name changing Colgan/Coghlan. This is what I have so far... John Albert Coghlan Parents were Christopher Colgan and Mary Ryan M. 18th Oct 1846 East Maitland. Mary died 17th Dec 1885 age 29 and is buried at Hiland Cemetery East Maitland with daughter Catherine. There are possibly 5 children all dying at a young age except Joseph b. 1852 d. 13 Feb. 1927 Canowindra who never married. I have no further information on Mary.
Christopher then married to Margaret Burke who was informant at time of death information is Christopher Colgan shoemaker, death George Street East Maitland 7th December 1874 63years cause Paralysis, buried 8th Dec. Catholic burial ground near West Maitland. Parents names were Christopher Colgan and Mary Welsh. Christopher was born Drogheda Ireland and had been in colony 50yrs, was married to Margaret at St Josephs East Maitland he was 45 no children of marriage. My great grandfather was Christopher Coghlan son of John Albert and Annie.
