Introduction.

My 4th great grandparents were Richard TONKIN & Honour GUY.
They were married in St Levan, Cornwall on the 26 October 1793.
Three of their sons, Enoch, James and John, came out to South Australia in the 1840s and took up farming in the Adelaide district.

James TONKIN (my 3rd great grandfather) and Nancy (aka Anne) HUTCHENS
Married in St Buryan, Cornwall on the 27 October 1827.
Nancy was the sister of Enoch's wife Elizabeth (aka Betsy) HUTCHENS.
They arrived at Port Adelaide, South Australia, on the Cressy in 1847 with their five children. During the voyage they also lost their young daughter, Elizabeth Jane, who was just a babe in arms.
