My mother was Alice Nora Standish Harris, born 1924 in USA. Educated in Cork and moved and married in England. My Middle name is Armor, maybe they forgot to give me a U. I believe my Grandfather, as an Engineer was gassed in the Somme, Sometime after the war moved to the US and then back to Ireland. He died in 1942.

Hi Kylie, I am Simon's first cousin, currently living in Dublin. Our great grandfather was called Standish Harris and died in 1925. My mother (Dorothy Margaret Harris) thinks he married Alice Armor. Our grandfather was George Armour/Armor Harris. Our family line is from Elton and Cork.
I a currently trying to find out the correct spelling of Armour/Armor as we have given it as a middle name to our son with the former spelling but think we may have it wrong and that it should be like Simon's!
Anyway, it looks like we might be related - although pretty distantly!

Audrey: I have found a contact, Priscilla Fitchett, who lives in Merced. Ca. She has researched for many years and has records about the Harris clan.She had a cousin William Powell living at Fairyfield Kilmallock, co Limerick.She organised a family reunion there in 2000.

Simon and Sarah: George Harris was the brother of my great aunt's grandfather Richard Emile Pache Harris.
The spelling I have been given is without the 'u' like Simon's however there was an Elizabeth Armour Harris and that is spelt with the 'u'. I believe she left Victor stud, Kilmallock co. Limerick to one of her sons and he also ran the post office.

My name is Robert Harris and I'm living in Tipperary, Ireland. I have met Priscilla multiple times when I was younger and would love to get all of my family tree together. My father was Bobbie Standish Harris( R.I.P. March 2001) son of Arthur 'Percy' Harris. My father had two sisters (Yvonne and June) and a brother George all who lived in Athassel House, Golden, Co. Tipperary Ireland. I remember growing up there and have very fond memories of meeting visiting cousins from America and Australia. Yvonne and June are now living in Australia and George Harris is living in Philadelphia. My Grandfather Arthur Percy Harris had a number of brothers and sisters some of which I cannot remember. I do know he had a brother Sir Ian Harris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Harris_%28British_Army_officer%29), Standish (Stan), George and Blun (not too sure what that is short for). I'm one of only a few Harris's still living in Ireland and I would love to connect with all my relatives no matter how distant.

Your Grandfather's siblings were George, Blundell, Standish, Cyril, Ian, Ethel, Olive and Elizabeth. Priscilla is Olive's daughter I believe.
Your great grandfather (John WA Harris) and my great great grandfather (Richard Harris) were brothers. Their siblings were Arthur, Standish, George M Harris, Mary, Annie & Margaret - the children of George Harris of Kilmallock and Elizabeth Armour (who I believe had/was left Victor Stud?)
I hope one day I can travel to see your beautiful country and find all the places Priscilla has mentioned in her letters to me. If I have any facts regarding the family wrong please let me know. I was left papers from my great aunt's research and have slowly been trying to find our place in the Harris clan.

I am Janet Mason great granddaughter of Arthur Armor Harris of Mitchelstown, who was the brother of Kyliek's great great grandfather. My grandfather Edward Victor Elton Harris emigrated to Sacramento California around 1909. He had two children Grace (my mother who died in 2011) and Armor who is still alive at 97. Armor has 2 sons Kevin and Brian. Kevin and his son Michael and two grandsons live in Texas, and Brian and his sons David and Connor live in Oregon, who all carry the Harris name. I have one sister Paula, also in California.

I am about to leave for my first trip to Ireland in TWO days! I am planning to visit Tipperary on September 6th and would love to meet Rob Harris while I am there. I hope to stop by Fairyfield where Arthur and his brothers were born and hope to meet William Powell Harris and his wife Vera. Hello everyone, I am currently living in Spain and considering getting a Spanish Passport (yes Brexit!) But it occurred to me I might be eligible for an Irish one so I starte looking into it and have been a little sidetracked by this post (though you maybe able to help me).

Basically my Mother was Betty Fay Blundell Harris of Kilmallock (Fairyfields?), she passed away 2006, her sister was Gloria and 2 brothers Blundell and John I believe. I see here mention of Pricilla and Ian Harris, both names I remember hearing and as a young boy I may have met Pricilla.

My mother married Denis Woolcock and Though that is my official name I have almost always used Harris because after my father died when I was 6 that side of the family kind of vanished, so I only felt real kinship for my mothers side.

I would love to find out some more and this could also help me in considering whether it might be easier to apply for an Irish passport. The only issue I see is the my mother was born whilst her parents were in there USA and she ended up with a US Passport!

My great-great-grandmother was Jane Alice Harris b 1827 in Knockaney to Arthur Harris and Honora Beckham (or Baker) - I have no dates for either, but I know that Arthur was the son of Standish Harris. My great-grandfather was Standish Richard Musgrave, his son Wilfrid Standish Musgrave, his son Derek Standish Musgrave - Standish Harris must have made a big impact, is all I can say.

I would be very interested if anyone could fill me in with dates. I have letters from Richard Harris, Standish Richard's uncle, who lived in Los Angeles in 1915. Standish Richard emigrated to NSW with his mother Jane and two sisters (another brother was already here), as well as his cousin Richard Harris, who settled in Sydney and worked for the Water and Sewerage Board, and another cousin George Harris, who returned to Ireland, and ended up in Colorado.

I also have in my possession the printed funeral service for Elizabeth Armor [sic] Harris of Kilmallock, died 25th July 1899 aged 74, buried in the family vault at Knockaney on 27th July, 1899. The booklet contains an Obituary for George Arthur Harris, d. 13th may 1891 aged 70 and Margaret Harris, d. 20th March 1878 aged 21.

My great-grandfather's autobiography claims close relations with the Ffrench family and with Lord Inchquin (O'Brien, I believe) on the Harris side.
