CRIPPS: London horse dealers to pet food manufacturers

Journal by Decimus

My London CRIPPS family were recorded as horse traders in central London from about the 1830's. From census records information they became "purveyors of horse flesh" and later "pet food manufacturers" over several generations, concentrating in the Bermondsey area in and around Long Lane. Up till 1900 or later. I shall keep this information from my sister, who likes to keep her horses on the hoof, live and in the paddock - not portioned into tin cans. Her pet dogs are fed on recently living beef steak.
Anyone out there know anything of my London horsey CRIPPS?

Are you related to either Charles Adam Cripps who was an Engineer or Charles Richard Cripps (my Great Great Grandfather) who worked in Match Factory and walked to Rothwell, Yrkshire, to take over a Match Factory.
